The owner of the company Douglas Mc Gowan did his apprenticeship in 1966 at TPA Road Works. After qualifying he then worked for Victor Kent and thereafter Blackwood Hodge. He left Blackwood Hodge to open his own company. His son Russel joined the company in 1998. He registered that same company Productive Transmission Services in 1991. The company has since changed its name to Productive Transmission Repairs.

We have done work for agents such as Hitachi, Equestra, Allison and various other Plant Hire Companies. We currently do work for Develon (Doosan) and LuiGong (Trust Plant Hire). We do all types of Transmissions for American, Asian and European brands. These products fit into CAT, LuiGong, Sany, Tonly, Rondebuilt, Terex, Clark, Komatsu, Shantui, ZF and various other equipment.

We do pumps and services.
Pump work, replacing hydraulic seals on cylinders and inspection and repairs on hydraulic valve bodies is an additional service that we provide. We can also import pumps and components.
